We have been friends since elementary school. Back then, he knew me as the girl who had broken her arm, and I knew him as the tall kid. We didn't think much of each other then, but things changed when we reached middle school. We started hanging out more often at our favorite spot - Red River, New Mexico. At first, we tried to avoid each other, but as we spent more time together, we realized we had feelings for one another. That's when we started dating.

Our parents caught on to our relationship pretty quickly and allowed us to go on small supervised dates where they would escort us from a table far away. We continued to date throughout high school but took a short break to figure out ourselves a little more.

During the beginning of the COVID pandemic, we reconnected and started talking again. We realized that we still had feelings for each other and decided to give our relationship another chance. We've been together ever since, and we wouldn't change it for the world.
